The Children's Cultural Center has formed an alliance with SeniorLink, a Youth Venture started by Vinay Trivedi that seeks to familiarize nursing home residents with the computer.

Youth Venture is a national not-for-profit organization that seeks to empower youth as agents of community change, providing structure and resources to youth who create and lead their own community-benefiting club or business.

Vinay's grandfather passed away unexpectedly at Langhorne Gardens while Vinay and his family were on vacation. When Vinay discovered that he passed away alone, without love by his side, he decided to try to make sure that nursing home residents never feel alone and without anything to do. He wants to help nursing home residents to get connected with the computer to help keep their minds active and alert. Teaching them new things, such as computer games or how to use email, will jump start the passion within them, as well as instill in them a sense of confidence and accomplishment which they may have forgotten.
(l to r) SeniorLink president Vinay Trivedi, vice-president Akhil Kelapu, and volunteer Dan Grudsky assist senior citizen Steve Ryan.

SeniorLink is currently seeking used computers that are suitable for refurbishing. If you have one to donate, or just want more information, please contact
